MISANO GP 15/9/19

A bittersweet weekend here in Misano, a circuit that gave us a MotoE podium with Mattia Casadei and a 1st place with Tatsuki, while Nicco was at the Medical Center discovering his left collarbone and right wrist were broken. He was involved in a brutal accident that could have had worst consequences so we can consider ourself lucky; Nicco we’ll be back on track in Thailand. Usually the homeGP it’s not like this: Misano this year has been like: “wow, am I still alive?” at the end of each day. An amazing Mattia Casadei, who closed the MotoE race in 3rd position, an unexpected result after disastrous qualifying and a race on Saturday closed crashing not for his fault. All this has been followed by the glorious victory of the Giapporiccionese Tatsuki Suzuki, who dominated an amazing race. Just a pity we couldn’t hear the Italian Anthem.

In Sepang 2017, behind a commemorative plate in the turn that took away Marco from us, Tatsuki took a photo and posted it on his social media writing: “Dear Mr. Marco Simoncelli, one day I will go up to in the podium with your father so please watch us from the sky…”. In Misano 2019, in our homeGP, in the circuit which takes the name of Marco, two years after that promise, with a lot of wish, dedication, courage, never giving up, Tatsuki crossed the finish line in 1st position keeping that promise. Sic, this is for you.

PS. You know me, I’m always polemic, so… I’m sorry but I need to comment the injustice suffered by Di Giannantonio because of unfair rules or applied incorrectly by the commission. They need to understand it is not correct to take an advantage from going out of the track in the green, at the expense of the other riders who takes the right trajectory. Fernandez exited the turn for almost 2 meters, his race should have ended there, where once where was gravel, it can’t happen that a rider uses it as an advantage to take the victory. Freddie Spencer, as ex rider, should have understood that better than anyone that who goes out should be penalized.
At the end of MotoGP race, It wasn’t nice to hear all that people whistling against Marquez during his honoring lap. He may has a lot of defects, but he can drive his bike in an extraordinary way. He, as the other riders, can take his bike up to 300 km/h and if we can se spectacular races with great overtakes is also thanks to him, and this is part of the show. You may not be his fan, you can not applause him if you don’t want to, but to whistle is against sport. This is not football so please, let’s show this sport is different and respectful, starting from this.

Yesterday Antonelli has been taken under surgery: we wait for him to come back even stronger than before, while we leave today, ready to conquer Aragon.
