Sorry for the long wait, we know it took longer than expected…
Silverstone is always impressive. We’ll never reach Formula 1 numbers, we stay humble, but it’s always a spectacular event. Something that should not be underestimated: every team has its own garage, and what a garage! Silverstone with its shows, games and events attracts 100.000 real passionate spectators every year. This passion was clear from the fact that so many fans came to support the Foundation, even though our booth was, let’s say, a bit makeshift. Thanks to the help of our friend and ambassador in England, Martin Finnigan, we probably wouldn’t have had a booth at all otherwise.
During this race the team had to do without an important member: Marco Grana, who, due to force majeure, had to be there for his girlfriend Vanessa, during such an exciting and emotional moment. Their first son, Riccardo Grana, with a red helmet in the first sector, couldn’t wait to arrive and was born a few days ahead of schedule…Ironically, Marco showed us a video where the baby is crying but then calms down when Marco plays the sound of a motorbike. His destiny is already written: he will learn how to ride a bike before he even learns to walk.
But let’s move to another kind of adrenaline, the one we know best. The Moto3 race: “for once” I don’t agree with the New Race Direction managed by Krafar. He gave O’Gorman a penalty for a small contact in the pack, which I think was a bit excessive. This had an impact on his fantastic race…and that was a real shame! One thing is sure: I like this guy more and more.
Leo, instead, will be followed by Folger from Aragon onwards, a former rider, a name already known from Marco’s racing days. He will join Leo at all the upcoming races as his coach. We are confident. Anything that can help improve his performance is more than welcome.
Finally, I want to tell you about something that makes us particularly happy. After Casadei, who won the MotoE World Championship in 2023, for the first time another former SIC58 rider, who grew up within our team and with the foundations that, in our small way, we helped him develop, will make it to the premier class. Senna Agius. We have watched him grow and I’ve always thought his riding style was suited to bigger bikes. Today that feeling has been confirmed: Senna will join MotoGp. For us, this is a great satisfaction. I think we deserve a little star on our chest!
This is the time of the year when everyone has to come back from holiday, the “funeral” of many, after two weeks of beaches, mountains, aperitifs and alarms clocks switched off. But think positive… We’ll be there to make your weekend a little brighter with our races. Next stop: Spain. And considering the wildfires spreading there too, we hope to find a slightly more welcoming weather.
