Luca Lunetta was born in Rome on May 27th, 2006. His passion for motorcycles “accidentally” arose at the age of 5 and a half. Indeed, one day his father, Luigi, had taken him, to support a family passion, to a golf course. At that moment, however, there were no courses available for children of that age, leading the two to discover a minimoto track on their way back home. From there, he began to develop a growing passion for the racing world and to use the number 58 in honor of his idol, Marco Simoncelli. His journey includes numerous successes in youth categories, such as those achieved in the Italian and European MiniGP 50 Championships and the Italian Pre Moto3 250 Championship. In 2018, he became part of the “Talenti Azzurri FMI” Project as a “National Interest Athlete.” In 2020, he began competing in the MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he finished with an excellent 5th place in 2022. In 2023, he earned the title of JuniorGP Vice Champion in the Junior Moto3 World Championship and participated in the Moto3 World Championship as a wild card at Mugello (his second wild card after Assen 2022). In the next two seasons (2024-2025), he will compete in the Moto3 World Championship with the SIC58 Racing Team, keeping his distinctive number 58.
