In a paddock full of masks, hand’s sanitizers and thermometers, where to enter in the clinic they make you a total body check up with x-ray, that wasn’t required neither at the airport after the twin tower attack… we are “the ones”, at the first Grand Prix after-COVID, to conquer the PolePosition and the lap-time record with Tatsuki Suzuki.
And it goes on with a brilliant performance by Mattia Casadei in the MotoE: he has just started to use his mind and to understand this 300kg bike.
We finished the weekend with an embarrassing and inconceivable beginners-race by both Suzuki and Antonelli. The first one started from the pole to precipitate 11th in about ten laps and then closed 8th. The second one started from the back as he crossed the green zone losing his best lap in the qualifying, to end the race 9th.
In today’s Moto3 you can’t afford to be superficial or not humble enough, and if it happens someone will overtake you, and this is exactly what happened on Sunday. Vasco Rossi, an Italian singer, wrote a song back in ’94 saying “It is fine like this…with no words to say” (“E va bene così.. senza parole”), and no, it is not fine this way, but for sure “with no words” is exactly as I feel right now.
