Generally speaking it has been a very good weekend, with both our riders starting from the front raw the vibe in our box was magic. Japanese people use to feel so much the pressure of the home GP and while the other riders were victim of this pressure, Tatsuki was able to make this pressure his best friend. The Giapporiccionese made us dream with the eyes opened, at least until two turns to the end when he let the adversaries to surprise him. He closed the race in 4th position and he was so disappointed with himself that I’m sure he learned the lesson. Because every race teaches you something, but the more a defeat makes you suffer, leaves you scars, the more you learn. That explain that yes, we are strong but we’re still missing something, a little plus to win.
Niccolò, after the surgery and two races missed, came back with an amazing pole, a great demonstration of force. During the race, as it was predictable, the pain came out as an obstacle so he closed the race trying to defend his position: to ride for twenty laps is very different from just one in time attack, so he closed the race with a good 12th position.
Australia is a fairytale place, back to the old time. Now that we’ve reach the target of being protagonists, we need to be the heroes of this story, starting exactly from here, from Phillip Island. It is weird how fast things change: just few months ago we were so happy and proud with a 4th place but look at us now, a 4th place is still good but at the end of the race it left us a bittersweet taste. That means we’re on the right way, with the right mood, and the right expectations. We’re second as team in the general classifying and our riders are both in top10. We’re a great team, strong, talented, that always works with passion; everything that has happened made us what we are now and I’m sure everything happened for a reason like as it was a long road preparing us for 2020 season. People use to say destiny is already written but we are the one who can decide how to read it.
