Jerez GP – Mugello CIV 06/05/18

We already said that: never create too many expectations because it never goes as planned… even looking for something with obstinacy never brings strong results. That’s why we missed the pole position with Antonelli.
Summary of the weekend: P11 for Antonelli, P6 for Tatsuki, P9 for Patacca in the RedBull Rookies Cup and first podium (an amazing P3) for Casadei in the italian championship CIV. Definitely a positive weekend, we can improve for sure, but this is a good start.

Let’s start from the pole position that Antonelli missed, maybe because he was too focused on it, caused by his unconsciusness of being a strong rider. During the free practices he always looks for other’s slipstream while he should ride alone as Martin did; he is at that level in Moto3: he should be “the one to be followed” and not the opposite. Same story for Suzuki, who has to stop being such a “dude”; he always says that and we joke about it, but this type of guys are not suitable for this racing world, he should be more concrete.

The change of weather that brougth wild wind together with a not anymore performing tire disturbed the performance of Niccolò, who struggled a lot during the race, closing in P11 after a penalization for exceeding the track limit for more than three times. Tatsu switch on his brain on Sunday, maybe my rebuke after the qualifying was right. It was the first race in the front with the craziest riders for him, and maybe he understood he can’t have anymore reverence towards them. He can do a good job during this championship, pushing always harder and harder.

Patacca debuted in the Rookies Cup making us so proud: P7 in the qualifying, penalized in RACE1 for a jump start and than closing 9th in RACE2. Great result. It was the first time for him in Jerez, a track where you have to follow other’s slipstream, but Matteo is one of that guy who pays attention on what you say and learns: the most amazing thing is that if you suggest him to change something on the bike he always do so, and than decides. If the chrono agrees with us he keeps going, on the contrary he goes back to his ideas, but he will give us great satisfactions.

Do you remember I was waiting for an answer from Bertelle? Well, I’m glad to say he called me back before the end of the race to say he will try his best to do as we suggested him. We garantee the same will.

Last but not least, it has been an amazing weekend also for Casadei who competed in the Mugello Circuit. Wonderfull pole position on Saturday. Epic race on Sunday, when he finally joined the podium. Well done Mattia! I’m proud to follow him in this adventure.
