EMILIA ROMAGNA GP 22/09/24

A Grand Prix that started a bit subdued, partly due to the threatening weather, discouraging the enthusiastic last-minute supporters. And somewhat melancholic, due to the tragic news that came the Sunday before, about Luca Salvadori in Germany.
For the record, this GP will be won by a number 23. We call them coincidences. But coincidences are, in a way, something we create and we notice them more when we need signs, when we lose for a while the meaning of it all. When we are there and it hurts, too much, but there it is, we just need one sign to make us understand that races and continuing to race is the only think which makes sense.

Then … it’s already Friday and everything begins again.

After the heavy blow from Race Direction, we got back on track with a great enthusiasm, quickly dampened by the last lap during the Q2, that was cancelled for both our riders, due to another rider’s crash. Thus, instead of starting from the first row, we started respectively from the 4th and the 5th rows, from where, we know it, a completely different race would have taken place.

We had the confirmation that Lunetta continues to improve time by time, even though he didn’t manage to get more than the 6th position in this race. But when the front group starts well and no one overtakes, it is difficult turn things around. When the leading group started to battle, the gap was already too much to close. Nevertheless, it was an amazing race.
Farioli wasn’t able to express himself, to show what he really can do, in my opinion he’s still making some driving mistakes that cause him some troubles, in addition the choice of the trye was wrong.

On Saturday there was the inauguration of an amazing roundabout at the entrance of Coriano, featuring a totem with Marco’s picture. It was crowded with people. I’m always surprised and at the same time touched when I see how many people support us and the foundation, how many passionate supporters we still have, coming from every part of the world to join us, with the heart in their hands and the tears in their eyes. These have been four days full of handshakes, smiles, photos with fans, and thoughts that fly far away, beyond the clouds, beyond the inexorable passing of time…
Far away, like where this journey is taking us. We barely had time to pack our bags, and we’re already in Indonesia.
