Aragon.
Last year, right here, the 58 was back on the podium. It was not just a result, it was a breath of fresh air after so much effort.
That’s why we came here full of desire, expectations and emotions. Because when certain emotions return, they make noise.
Let’s start from Nepa’s mental switch, in his constant pursuit of the recipe for happiness, with ups and downs, he’s going through a Bagnaia-like period… it took an accident with Perez to bring out his hunger.
He crashed. He rushed to the pit box, the mechanics fixed the bike as best they could and he rejoined the race without the rear brake. He was running the same times as the front group, fired up by a mix of determination and anger. I don’t know if it was the shock of the crash, but for the first time I can say it was a useful crash… well done, Perez!
Then there was Lunetta’s perfect race. Beautiful. Tense. Real. He started second, just a breath away from the pole position: 26 thousandths of a second, it’s nothing. But they feel like an eternity and make you angry. He pushed, he attacked, he was always there. He lost the podium on the last lap, fighting with our friend, the unpredictable Munoz, who kept us all focused. Always on “high alert”! Last time I criticized him, but today I would like to say: “See? If you race properly, you can win a race!”
And now it’s time for the notorious Mugello.
“At Mugello you don’t sleep”, and it’s not just a slogan. We hope not to sleep for the prosecco, not for anxiety.
Stay tuned!
