Always fascinating, with its lights, colours, skyscrapers with golden roofs and the night races, by day you dream among the skyscrapers and Aladdin\u2019s golden rooftops and by night you are in the middle of a Fast &amp; Furious race, maybe it\u2019s the sunset that gives this race a hint of something clandestine. It feels like another world.\u00a0<b>And the bikes\u2026they have a theatrical aura under the spotlights, as if they know that here, they\u2019re racing on display.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">We leave Qatar grateful, not for what happened but for what didn\u2019t<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. Martin came out \u201calmost unscathed\u201d after the crash and being hit. Luckily, he was hit ten centimetres from the point of no return. It wasn\u2019t the moment, it wasn\u2019t destiny, call it what you want\u2026<b>In that handful of centimetres, tragedy could have been inevitable.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">That\u2019s why I started thinking about the\u00a0<b>famous \u201cMisano\u201d kerbs.<\/b>\u00a0In the meantime, the increasingly lightweight wheel rims, in the pursuit of performance at all costs, get bent and damaged and every time it\u2019s a cost for teams. And then, perhaps, they were given the green light with too much recklessness.\u00a0<b>Born to protect, but too often the source of problems<\/b>, they carry their own responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">On the other hand, it must be considered that today\u2019s riders have no rules. They know that beyond the corner there isn\u2019t gravel, there isn\u2019t a cliff and it becomes the \u201coff-track festival\u201d. There is asphalt, and that changes everything. Those who dare, don\u2019t pay for it. Those who go wide, come back onto the track with no problems.\u00a0<b>Those who don\u2019t make mistakes\u2026what kind of advantage do they have? We continue to reward risk and penalize precision.<\/b>\u00a0I\u2019ve been saying this for a while: a clear rule is needed. For example, if you go off the track you get one-second penalty. Otherwise \u2013 since we can\u2019t introduce moats full of crocodiles \u2013\u00a0<b>we go back to the good old gravel. Where mistakes have a price. Where every action on the track matters and teaches.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Qualifying remains our thorn in the side, too far behind, too often. Yet, we almost always finish the race in the top ten. It\u2019s natural to ask ourselves:\u00a0<b>what if we started from the front? But races are never a matter of math or opinions<\/b>, we prefer to leave fleeting judgments at the caf\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Nepa went through a tough weekend<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. After a bad crash, which scared us a bit, he was declared fit and despite a battered foot, he didn\u2019t give up. He kept going and finished the race in 8<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>position.\u00a0<b>Times are improving and his determination is strong, unlike his foot.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Lunetta, instead, is in the \u201cI wish, I wish, I wish\u201d phase, as Olly sings.<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0But there is a risk, as the quote says: \u201cGrasp all, lose all\u201d. As of now, I don\u2019t think he has a clear mindset and a rider, to be fast, must be light inside.\u00a0<b>If there are problems off the track, the track takes them all.<\/b>\u00a0I hope that his love ones will help him\u00a0<b>find that peace of mind that last year made him push, with lightness<\/b>. He needs to get back that version of himself.\u00a0<b>To race out of duty, not to prove something, but for himself.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In the end, it\u2019s the balance that everyone should find in life.<\/span><\/i><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/>\nLaughing and joking, the first and much awaited European Grand Prix is here\u2026at one of our favourite circuits:\u00a0<b>Jerez de la Frontera!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>-PaoloSic58-<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Qatar is always Qatar.
