Valencia gave us finally a weekend under the sunlight and after few doubts post-qualifying, all of our 5 riders were able to show what they’re capable of, one at a time. I have to admit five races in a day are tough, even just to watch, it never happened to me before, and I see in each race my riders showing their talents, they did their job and that’s what I call SQUAD GOAL.
\nMoto3: Bertelle closed in 13th position both the races which is a good result for a rookie. He was a little disappointed , he was expecting to join this category and win, but it’s not always that easy. But I can say this kid has a strong behavior which I like! Patacca has a problem: the accident happened last year is still in his mind and that’s why he wasn’t able to compete in the front. No one is asking him to win, he just need to do relax and do what he did on Sunday. It’s essential to be patient. Don’t we always say “time fixes everything”?
\nHikaru is surprising me every time, but I can’t say yet if it’s in a positive or negative way. On the grid, Race1, the bike switched off again, and this made me understand what he learned from my lesson in Estoril: NOTHING. I got even more angry with the technical director. What happened in Estoril could have been lack of experience, it could happened to a guy that compete in this championship for the first time; but this, to happen again in Valencia, is unacceptable. They should have practiced starts till death during FP and qualifying, but they didn’t so we had to try it thousand times during the brake between race1 and race2. He did it! He was able to start in Race2, and after taking a little distance from the first group in the beginning, he was able to reach them again, and even to overtake two riders after battling for a while. He finally learn how to start, MAYBE… but for sure I can say he improved on braking as we could see from technical data.
\nLet’s move on ETC, with Mattia + Mattia. Difficult qualifying for Volpi while Falzone was able to qualify for ETC1; even starting from the bottom, he did an aggressive race. I think that after the podium in Estoril, he got more confident and was finally able to reveal his talent. I’m so happy for him, who in Race2 did even better, and I could see a great Falzone.
\nVolpi instead hasn’t been able to qualify for ETC, but he closed 3rd position Serie2.
\nHe needs to trust us a little bit more and understand we are working for him. Sometimes, when you enter this world you think you know everything, but that’s wrong, there is always a lot to learn, especially from who has more experience. We talked about this: he is a smart kid and I think he understood.<\/p>\n
I’m a little bit tired after those five races, as I was the one competing, but there is no time for tiredness, because today we’re already in Jerez for the World Championship so… new race, new adventure!<\/p>\n
